Government Google Cloud Services…. What about Security?

US CIO Vivek Kundra has posted that the US government will be starting to use a Google government cloud, and has started an Apps store for government employees at Apps.gov

Apps.gov is operated by the GSA and offers a host of online service packages, ranging from Google email security, online backup services, to Salesforce.com account bundles.

The online store at Apps.gov is actually pretty cool.

I’m sure that over time, the same authentication requirements that government agencies have today (eg. CAC or PIV card authentication) will be required to use these online services too.
