What’s the difference between the S200 and the D200 Models? Both models have the same level of physical security, data security and encryption, however
The IronKey S200 Models uses SLC (Single Level Cell) memory which, in comparison to MLC memory, is faster, longer lasting and more expensive. The IronKey S200 models are the only flash drives in the World to use SLC memory.
The S200 Model is for users who require maximum security and high performance with ultra fast data transfer speeds, highly reliable memory for daily use and long-term storage needs and the ability to use portable applications and as a virtual desktop.
Data Transfer Speed – up to 27MB/s read speed / Up to 24MB/s write speed.
For ease of recognition the S200 Models are finished in brushed steel.
The IronKey D200 Models use MLC (Multi Level Cell) Memory – the same memory used in every other flash drive, which in comparison to SLC memory is not as fast or durable.
The D200 Model is for users who require maximum security with cost effective higher storage capacity and use their IronKey less frequently. The D200 Models are suitable for most business and home users.
Data Transfer Speed – up to 25MB/s read speed / Up to 17MB/s write speed.
For ease of recognition the D200 Models are finished in black enamel (still in a steel casing and epoxy resin enclosure).
